B’s birthday day out

bea's 7th_2

We haven’t yet really celebrated my big B’s 7th birthday tho during our visit 3 weeks ago we gave her a day out bonus. It’s the usual fare with the kids minus the whole fambam because I want it to be minimal, and I want B to have all the attention this time. Before we drove to Yellow Cab I told husband to drop me off first at Savemore supermarket so I can buy B a simple birthday cake. No birthday is complete without a birthday cake, right? So when I spotted a caramel flavored one at Iko’s which B could also eat (chocolates are no-no for dogs) I paid for it right away. I thought it’s nicely done considering its cheap.

At Yellow Cab we picked the outdoor sitting so B can sit freely tho it had its disadvantages because B gets distracted from people passing by. We could have dined at the semi-outdoor area but the climate was quite humid that afternoon, not so good for our birthday girl. And like the usual, the kids ordered to their heart’s content, we had pizza and pasta, and quesadillas from the neighboring Army Navy. We skipped ice cream despite their pleading, I told them that we’ll grab one at the supermarket later that day –the salted caramel  flavored one.

My B of course enjoyed her Classic Burger from Army Navy, she ate only half of it and took home the other half for Boi. Yes, we’ve thought her well the value of sharing. Dadi forked her some bites of pizza as well. While B radiates a happy aura that day she was feeling sick inside and we had to give her antibiotics soon as we got home. And for the past three years, it may just be coincidence or just my being paranoid at times, B gets sick and gloomy whenever the birthday month is nearing and Momi isn’t happy about it any more. 😦

We dropped by at Summit Ridge so B can make the most of this day out, on her normal grind she loved to wander around the open space other than this time she really felt weak and tired and preferred to lie down on his Dadi’s lap while they watched the performers that night. She even ignored our ice cream fight and doesn’t even asked a single scoop. My Poor baby! We decided to drive home before 9pm so she can fully rest.

Back at home, the kids were excited of her cake and they blew the candles on B’s behalf. B was already in deep sleep this time and we don’t want to interrupt her dreaming as she made quivers and leg twitches. I wonder what her dream was. Well, I hope it’s not a fight with a dream burglar bunso. 🙂 And yes, we’re still celebrating her birthday this August. We’ll bring her soon at this dog café so she could sample a real restaurant meal cooked rightly for her. I hope we could bring Boi as well only that I fear he might broke everything around. Sigh!

Still, we wish you a happy birthday Bunso, i wish you more healthy years and fun days to wiggle about. ♥

family weekend|may 24-25

familyweekend_1

Yet, I was fortunate to spend another weekend again with the fambam last May 24-25. I had a good excuse to come home because I needed to fit my gown for Mjane’s wedding. The husband had work on that particular Sunday so we decided to squeeze a night out on Saturday eve so as not to waste the weekend itself. And the thought that my cousin Irish needed a breather from all the clamor of marital challenge, well, none that a box of pizza can fix. Hehehe

We went to our default go-to place even if I wanted to try a different resto that night, we had the favorites –Roasted Garlic & Shrimp, Chicken Alfredo, Shrimp Alfredo and Cheese Quesadillas. It was an early dinner because we can’t stay too late esp that we had kids in tow, Irish’ kiddo in particular. Tho the get-together was some sort of quick we had a good time, they enjoyed my monopod to bits. 🙂

what keeps us alive at around 2am #mrsfieldsicecream #diybananasplit

Back at home, we stayed very late until past 2am, we were already planning for Nanay’s birthday at that time –the breakfast spree which everyone enjoyed last Sunday. And well, because it was fun and at the same time momentous I’ll try to blog about it right away. Next…

The following day, the Sunday, seeing that the temperature will just bore me to death I invited Nanay & the kids to SM Dasmarinas so we could go around and at the same time buy the kids school supplies. School is nearly opening and yet they don’t have even a piece of pencil yet, bad Ninang I should have given this priority since I’m accountable for these school supply things yearly.  We look through National Bookstore to buy all the notebooks, and pens, and art materials, and SAM’s not-so important, relevant school items. I remember our time, Che and I fancy those scented pens, notebooks and erasers, we even have a special glue roll-on which the classmate once thought a roll-on perfume. Hahaha. We used to own King Jim notebooks because they’re stylish and neat to look at. The parents assured we have the best so we won’t feel sorry just because the classmates were the rich and famous then.

Right after that exhausting shopping spree for school supplies I demanded that we should have some good food, some real food for dinner. And since we still have SAM’s Pancake House GCs we thought it’s time to make use of it. Yipee! Finally, I’m not so paying a thousand bucks for dinner. 😀

Nanay and I shared the Golden Tinapa I’ve been raving from the time I got a taste it. Glad that it didn’t disappoint Nanay’s very picky palate, in fact it won her heart. She even considered it cheap because of the serving size and its inclusion. I got an additional order of taco because I’ve been reading good things about it other than my judgment is unalike, probably not the best taco in town for me.

Sam had an order of Bacon Waffle which I didn’t get to taste because I was really full from finishing an order of rice, btw, the little boy had the Slice ‘n Shine from the Kids Menu. It was pan seared meatloaf slices, sunny side up egg and plain rice. I think he enjoyed it despite its being plain and boring because he almost finished it.

We were home by 8pm, I rushed to prepare our things because we’re scheduled to drive back to Manila that same night, it was tiring yes but it was rewarding at the same time. At my age right now, I easily get tired so staying at home and sleeping during my off was far more gratifying but I’m not trading anything, time is flying so fast so I want to make the most out of it, I won’t pass up on things I can enjoy and do today, tomorrow maybe too late for me to realize what I have given up.

These, I don’t want to regret when I’m too old and gray…

batch 90 part ii

A month ago the third meet up with my high school class happened, it was well-attended and I can’t be happier because it was something I always look forward to ever since the group agreed that it should be a monthly event, at least everyone betted the same opinion. And even it means going home only for this occasion I’m not complaining because we’re trying to push everyone to be in attendance and that time is the most important here. And every class member should spare a day to attend the meeting. We want everyone to oblige themselves of this because we need a good number of attendees if we want to make this reunion thing a celebrated one. 🙂

*I love you guys for making my day! ♥ This one taken at what used to be the grade-schoolers classroom located at the rear site of the academy.

So I was like smiling ear to ear when we had a good number in February. Imagine that even those whom we didn’t have any solid contact for the last 20+ years made it. Special mentions to Capt. Ewald Manay and Mario V, his buttress-cousin, both were classmates up until our sophomore years. Actually, everyone’s attendance was surprising because none of them either confirmed or declined to our invite and yet they came, in full force!

stmark90_7

Our mini-get together didn’t end there; everyone was in the mood for a little extension. We drove to the ridge side and savored some pizza and warmed our bellies with hot coffee later on. It was day –a much unexpected occasion which turned out to be a super exciting and merry one for the record. 😛

stmark90_8

Then came Mar 29, our supposed 4th meet up. The venue remained to be the academe, only which this time we invited the other section, the Matthews, whom we’ve always looked up as the “elite” class. Not that their brainy and smarter than anyone of the Marky’s, hahaha, we’re considering more that most of them were borne to well-off families. Hey, but we were no way left out when academic is the subject matter, we have our own league of geniuses. Hehehe

stmark90_9

Okay, last Saturday meet up was a disappointment especially on my part because I was presiding and yet I felt no is interested anymore, 😦 the invite was taken for granted. 😦 I wasn’t expecting the number to double but at least improve in a way but it didn’t happen. Sigh! But in a way, I’d like to thank Doc Joan for showing up despite her busy schedule and Jon R, because you’ll be Matthew’s rep from now on.

stmark90_10

But I’m not giving up, this batch reunion is a go and it would be a success the way I foresee it in my mind. Right Mr. Co-Chair? We just need more patience and time and encouragement and effort and energy and money to make it happen! 🙂
