The Month of the Heart of Winter

the new leaf of January is my Month!

Monthly Archives: July 2014

happy 2nd bark-day Boi!

And to my handsome boy, Momi is sorry for the times I discounted you, for the times I yelled at you (because of your naughtiness and whatnots), for the times I left you without a word. I feel so guilty now. 😦 My lucky one, I hope your puppy ways may diminished soon tho I love it still when you behave like a 2 month old pup despite your built now, I love it when you woof for attention and hugs and I love it most when you can’t help yourself to give everyone your drooly kiss. Your puppy ways rule!

boi@2

As you marked the second of your many birthdays to come, may you recognize that there’s other doggie outside our fence and that you’re far luckier than anyone of them. May you learn how to play (not hard play) with squeaky balls without tearing them off, oh boy! May you grow to love dog parks and restaurants like the big B, and behave as if you’re like a K-9 trained? May you find ease in going for a ride or the beach or the mall because we miss you on travels. Boi, my Lucky Boi, you were never just a second fur-baby to us, you have a special place in our hearts and whether it would take another two or three more years for you to become domesticated and all we would love you still. Now, shake you paws and say I’m TWO!

Happy Birthday my Luckydoo! ♥

happy 7th Bunso!

b@7_3

Bea, I know you long for Dadi more than you long for me and I can’t blame you enough because Dadi had sacrificed so much for you when you were just a little puppy. He cleans your poo and pee, he sneaks out of his office to check on you and feed you. He shares his pillows with you. He bathes you and brushes your teeth. He brings you to the Vet, he walks you and he runs with you. He shares with you his cone of ice cream, his burger sandwich, he actually thought you to eat almost everything that is edible and palatable because he treats you as his own, his very own fur-baby. Sometimes I feel jealous that you love him more

b@7_1

…but as I see the two of you connect I’m happy the way it is, the happiest paw-Momi you know because two of my loves dearly love each other and that the two of you would stick forever no matter what. As you turned a year older again today Bunso, may you overcome the natural signs of aging like Momi does. May you stay hale & hearty, giddy and bouncy and all. And may your feisty spirit lives on beyond infinity. You would fur-ever be my fur-baby, the one that taught us not to take ourselves so seriously; the one who made our lives more interesting and the one who loves us unconditionally.

b@7_4

Momi is sending virtual hugs and kisses to you, and I hope the weather would be good this weekend so we could go off somewhere and celebrate a little.

family weekend|jun 14-15

We marked Father’s Day a day in advance last June, we thought that Tagaytay would be another busy sight comes the occasion itself, we don’t want to take chances besides we wanted to rest that Sunday and there’s no place like the comfort of being at home, doing nothing. 🙂

Leoncio, Sam & I drove ahead of everyone at the ridge, we wanted to savor a light snack first before the anticipated mass at The Little Souls. We checked on Bo’s Coffee, the coffee shop near Gerry’s Grill, only to find out that it ceased operation since last year. How come we didn’t know? 😀 We decided to drive towards Maharlika West but none that appealed to us, first we wanted something new to try on and second, something that isn’t too expensive at all. Before we knew it we’ve almost wasted our open time on the road and time was ticking fast. We then decided to drive heading to The Little Souls, there’s a small coffee nook just across the church and we thought it would probably solve our coffee fixation at the moment. The place wasn’t new to us in fact we’ve tried it twice but it was only that day that we knew the coffee shop’s name –The King’s Crumb Bakeshop. All the while I thought its name was Coconut Cream Pie which was their bestseller by the way. Leoncio and I had coffee while our little Miss got bottled iced tea, we also had chocolate crinkles, oatmeal cookies and the coconut cream pie itself.

A slice is enough because it tends to have that “suya” factor probably from the rich coconut cream.

We didn’t stay too long because we don’t want to get in late for the 6pm mass. We all loved attending mass at The Little Souls because it remained serene all throughout the celebration besides mass goers here remained to be observant of the supposed dress code during mass, not entirely the traditional one about no cross-dressing, people here at least dressed modestly. 🙂 We met up the entire family at the church soon after.

Right after mass we had dinner at KFC Sky Ranch, a very simple one for Father’s Day I know but it’s the togetherness that always counts and family time, quality family time to be certain. The Sky rides of course weren’t missed by the kids; our big little P would request a train ride each time.

While waiting for the duo to finish their train ride we strolled around the Sky Ranch activity area where Altura, the Mercato of Tagaytay is located. Unlike the first Mercato in BGC and the former Cucina Andare, Altura had a very limited choice of food items and probably because the place is big, the market seemed a bit disorganized. I hope there’s a better concept at this side of the ridge because it tends to look like a regular flea market.

We went home early because someone had work the following day, you know who, but at the end of another day, of another family weekend, I always thank God for all His blessings, it may be so little at times other than it remained countless each day. There is always, always, always something to be thankful for. 🙂

Jun 8. Now, this post is about to break the routine. Because I’m not really fond of jotting down my past activities I had this tendency to forget what I’m actually doing that very day, thanks for the photos at least I have something to write about. 🙂

This dining event happened few days ahead before my latest post, sorry if the dates aren’t in order here as I could no longer even recall what made us drove to the mall that day. As I told before, Italianni’s isn’t a regular restaurant for us. We can’t afford to shell out more than a thousand bucks every meal but once in a while we feel like we need to splurge a little 😀 and think that we’re moneyed. It’s just money and we’ll make it again and again.

We were at Italianni’s for late lunch once again, we had brunch earlier that day that’s why we weren’t too hungry when we arrived. We we’re thinking of getting an order of fresh insalata and a big pasta plate but we find it too hard to pass on getting an order of pizza ovale. We’re both partial to Italianni’s dough and its topping, and because of that our standard of pizza has become upscale and sosyal. 🙂

sundate no.31_2

Seafood Cioppino’s. Mussels, shrimps, clams, calamari and spaghetti in cioppino, enchanted with chilli flakes. We love this to bits because it had all our favorite seafood.

sundate no.31_3

Pizza Abbondaza. Sicilian style pizza with three flavors: calssico pizza, pesto meditteraneo and quattro formaggio topped with feta cheese.

sundate no.31_4

The word “formaggio” got me, no-brainer at all it’s one of the best. ♥

sundate no.31_5

I love it that we’re not in a rush, we had our time that afternoon and I love to think that work isn’t due the following day, oh Monday I think I’m allergic to you.

sundate no.31_7

P.S. I remember now, we were at the mall that day because I needed to buy belated gifts for my two goddaughter

sundate no.31_6

…and because it’s Sunday we had to stock up food for the week, how about some bargain Biscoff from Rustan’s? I got so lucky! 😛
