After Bon Chon’s craze now comes another double-fried crispy chicken that claims to be “Ang Bagong Fried Chicken ng Pinoy” –Manang’s Chicken. We got to sample Manang’s last week after our usual Sunday supermarket routine, we ordered the chicken meal so husband and I can share. And we picked the Mild Spicy variant and the verdict –I’m sorry but it failed to create the exceptional flavor that is uniquely Pinoy (this is just our honest opinion). I don’t know if it would change if we choose the Original soy garlic flavor only. 😦 Probably, I’m not yet ready to change my fried chicken preference the reason why it’s so easy for me to snub these new chicken players in town.
But the husband says Bon Chon is a lot better, at least he can compare which means he welcomes this idea of redefining the fried chicken recipe. 🙂
