Before the year jumps to another big leap my maternal family gathered one more time to another merry occasion.
It was Dec 27 during our Barangay Fiesta when the whole family organized the get-together and part of it was the usual exchange gift. We initially draw the name of the person we were supposed to gift and the wish lists were posted on facebook for everyone’s access. We had two categories, the grown-up edition and the kiddie edition. The rates would be a minimum of P300 for the grown-ups and P150 for the kiddie. Cash would not be accepted so everyone should make an effort to find the perfect piece. Okay, because everyone had little time to rush to the mall, anything that falls on minimum is permitted (well, there is no maximum so the generous member of our family gave away more than the bare minimum). 🙂
Aside from the gifts every family was assigned to bring something cooked. Nanay prepared macaroni soup and Tita Bebot had pancit bihon. Tita Josie and Tito James papaitan was late because both of them arrived late too (from last minute shopping at SM Dasma) and Tita Gigi, ah I can’t remember what she brought. And because this year, my cousin J.B. is not with us, we missed his coleslaw este vegetable salad pala, hehehe. Yeah, the food choices this year were not that much (kase walang BBQ) but nonetheless the event was a joyous one.
The gift giving follows after everyone finished a plateful of pancit.
If you have a close family like ours, this would be a common happening.
You get what you wished for!
I got what I wished! Thank you Doña Irish 😀
On Moki’s behalf…
I think the most candid snap deserves an award, let’s double the fun next year. Whatchathink?
This one for you J.B. 🙂
The grown-ups exchange gift was fun and exciting as everyone was requested to open their gifts at once.

Another one for you J.B. 🙂
While the kiddie edition was impressive as these teen and kids mixed truly made an effort.
Look whose pretty excited to open her present (from Kuya Val). 😀
It was a lively occasion for everyone and my aunts had even wanted a longer preparation for next year. Let’s see if this happen soon.
