a short break with my family

I spent another busy weekend with my family and as I recap everything from Saturday to Monday (yes, we stayed for another day so we could spend more time with Bea) I couldn’t help but wish for a longer vacay especially this coming holiday season.

Saturday, I went on a “slight” shopping with Nanay in Makati. She was able to bring home her Christmas gift from Tatay. 🙂

Leoncio was all the time focused while its being demo-ed.

Maybe because of Nanay’s overwhelming joy she was so generous to treat us to lunch! We never had a hard time picking up the place because it’s a shared preference –The French Baker.

Complimentary Soup

What we had,

Swiss Potato Salad. Chuncky potatoes with their own salad dressing.

Fettucini ala Carbonara (in Spinach pasta). A Roman tradition consisting of cooked Fettucini pasta tossed in Carbonara sauce made with bacon and cheese-flavored eggs, sided with grilled foccacia slices or French garlic toast. Your choice of white or green spinach pasta.

Creamy Seafood Pasta Linguini. Fresh seafoods consisting of calamares, fish, shrimps and mussels in creamy white sauce sided with grilled foccacia slices or French garlic toast.

Hickory Spareribs. Juicy pork spareribs topped with Barbecue hickory sauce.

I wanted to order crêpe for dessert but because I ate more than what I usually consume I pass over.

Later that day, we drive home to Cavite with Angel’s Pizza for everyone!

Sunday, after lazing the whole day at home we drive to Tagaytay after dinner for a cold stopover.

And while Nanay, Tatay and Leoncio decided for Gilligans I order to-go from Starbucks.

Toffee Nut Latte and Triple Decker Cheesecake with Snickers –Love! 😀

Arriving home, we spent the rest of night goofing around with Bea. I miss her so much and moments like this make me long for a longer break even more.

I want Bea back with us but things are still difficult to deal with. And all I can do now is to wish that our neighboring family would soon pack up and leave. 😐

Momi and Dadi love you!

We left this morning feeling low, today starts another countdown on our next get-together.

Nonetheless, I love this weekend! 🙂

pizza, pasta and more

Last night was an impromptu date night with my office colleague, C and J, we decided so quickly following a small talk over lunch break.

The venue was a favorite restaurant (my favorite 🙂 ) and I remember the numerous dining occasions we had here especially when my niece, SAM was aged 1 or 2. Buffalo Wings, Onion Rings, Baked Ziti –everything is so mouth-watering! Don Henrico’s is not just your typical casual Italian eatery, they offer more and they serve more.

I was delighted that a branch is nearby our office and at the same time it’s one of their stores that offer buffet lunch and dinner. I just couldn’t wait for 6:30pm and walk off, so, the three of us didn’t waste a single minute soon as we went out our post. It’s going to be another feast!

The spread wasn’t too many nevertheless what else can you ask, for me it’s practically all-inclusive and reasonably priced at P328.00+

Maybe because of too much excitement to nibble at once I didn’t take so many photos of the food. But these are my plates last night…

I started with green salad with Caesar dressing, a slice of pizza and potato wedges. By the way, Dip & Nachos is also available.

The second plate –classic carbonara, pizza and chicken ala buffalo. I love the tangy BBQ sauce of the chicken.

The third plate –spaghetti pomodoro (?), pizza and captain crunch fried chicken.

Though dessert was missing from the spread still it was fulfilling.

I promise to get a taste of DH once more –Mexican Deli, Baked Ribs wait for me! 😀

Until our next dining event!

this is for you sister dear

C’mon and splurge! 😀

freebies from Angel’s Pizza Pasta Combo

I’m a self confessed addict when it comes to promos and freebies, that’s the obvious reason why I signed up Facebook before. I may not have won a million yet nevertheless all the stuffs I had from online promotions had been very valuable –from airline tickets, accommodations, beauty product, dining GCs, etc.

And just recently I had minor winnings from a favorite pizza parlor. 🙂

Angel’s Pizza Pasta Combo sponsored an online promo on Facebook some two weeks ago endorsing the newest pizza flavor + this is their offering in marking the significant 11-11-11 this year. I was the happiest when I saw my name on the winner’s list.

Fast forward to the following Friday, husband and I visited the Makati Avenue branch to pick up our free pizza + chicken bowls + coke. I can’t wait to go home and feast when the pizza was handed to us!

What do we have?

Big Family Chicken Aloha –BBQ chicken chunks, ham, bacon, pineapple, green pepper, BBQ sauce, mozzarella cheese. Husband and I were big fans of the Fancy Aloha but the Chicken Aloha is even good.

We’re switching to this flavorful pizzazz from now on.

Breaded Chicken Bowl –we were given not one but three servings.

Chicken Teriyaki

Chicken with Creamy Sauce

Chicken Parmigiana

Among the Chicken Bowls I would go for the Chicken Teriyaki though it would be tastier if the chicken meat was actually grilled.

All three Breaded Chicken Bowl was served with regular iced tea. 1.5 Coke was an add-in too.

Our special thanks to Ms. Flor and Mr. Odette Mejia for accommodating us and of course to Angel’s Pizza Pasta Combo for these superb treat! 🙂
