The Month of the Heart of Winter

the new leaf of January is my Month!

Edsa Shangri-la spree: Intimately CHI (1-Night Stay)

It was a lavish break for my team last week as we became a resident for a day and half at the five-star deluxe city-resort convention hotel in Ortigas Centre. Yes, Edsa Shangri-la Manila became our city address for the time being. Sosyal noh! 🙂

Friday, from Greenhills we were chauffeured to Edsa Shangri-la by our company driver just in time for our 2pm check-in. I recall the nice feel we all had as we stepped-in the posh airy lobby. The check-in was easy because we had a copy of the advance payment slip which we just presented at the check-in counter. However, the gentleman who attended us cannot multi-task as he became a little jangle when the four of us started to ask over in chorus. Hehehe…

And finally, the comfort and luxury of hotel living greeted us. Our room –the Tower Wing Superior Room that is full array of amenities that make your stay productive and peaceful.

And before the room gets into a total mess up, I took the occasion to take photos and itemize what are furnished for us.

Details of the hotel room,

Offers magnificent views of either the Ortigas skyline or the hotel’s landscaped gardens. The view from our room is Edsa so we get to see mostly buses, MRT and SM Megamall’s roof deck.

Features international direct-dial telephones, complimentary wireless Internet access, large in-room electronic safe, cable TV, coffee/tea making facilities, and executive writing desk.

At daytime, broadband is fast however, it slows down in the evening. Good thing wifi is available so you stay connected while on vacay. And it somehow surprises me that the television was not yet an LED nor even the LCD type. 😐

A mini-bar is provided too, but don’t dare touch any of it.

Everything is pricey; take for example these nuts in can at P385 each and mineral water at P260 for a liter! Wow, that’s almost or likely cost 2x 5 gallons of Wilkins. I could only think that these prices are really designed for king and queens 🙂 .

Equipped with a spacious bathroom and an indulgent bed with duvet make for a relaxing stay.

Sshhh…I took home almost everything, from toiletries to stationeries to laundry sack 😀 .

The room dimension is 34 sqm/366 sqft.

By the way, Mrs. F and I were roommates while Bel and Maja shared a similar room close by.

Not too long, a room attendant went on and gave us free bananas. Nutella please! 😀

With all the pleasantness encase around, I don’t remember how many times I uttered the word “WOW”. And the one thing I wished to do next was to doze off however, I don’t want to miss any of the experience perchance the delightful extra value Edsa Shangri-la had primed for us.

Just to give you a picture of the impressive indulgence that we enjoyed during our stay,

call me jologs, kuripot or whatnot, pero ang mahal ng tubig, grabe! PhP 260 for a bottle of distilled water? when we stayed in Quincy in Sg, which is also an upscale all-inclusive-hotel, libre lahat pati tubig! why can’t we have similar hotel set-up in pinas?

i was disillusioned with edsa- shangri la. 😦
