The Month of the Heart of Winter

the new leaf of January is my Month!

Great Food…Fast at Chic-Boy!

The heavy rains yesterday was out of the blue, that is after suffering from a very warm temperature for the last three weeks. Husband and I make an attempt to go out (by public transport); we were actually waiting for a cab when the heavy downpour begins to wash out the streets. We had no choice but to return home because we both ended drenched in rain waters. The rains continued for the next two hours, so, we gave up with our plans.

It was already past 6pm when we decided to delight ourselves with something grilled. And because we also need a short trip to the supermarket, we had one stop in mind -Barangka Drive. Since it was only a few kms. away from our apartment, I slipped on comfortable shorts and tee, and armed with a golf umbrella husband and I get ready to challenge the rainfall.

We make a quick round at the wet market to check if there were fresh seafoods but ended with nothing. And seeing that it would be a hassle for us to dine with plastic bags, we decided that we should eat first.

Chic-Boy had gathered good reviews from blogs I read, so, I think we need to give it a try.

“Chic-Boy” –A fun and catchy play of the words “Chicken” and “Baboy,” two of the products we proudly offer to the Filipino market. We all know that Filipinos love to eat. Filipinos also love to find reasons to gather and celebrate. And at almost every occasion, chicken and pork are always on the menu.

Chic-boy’s pride is its Cebu Lechon Manok and Cebu Lechon Liempo are marinated and stuffed with herb and spices and charcoal broiled to juicy and tasty perfection. Its soooo flavorful, no sauce is needed to amplify the taste! But for those who love dipping their food in sauces, our lechon manok and lechon liempo is best paired with our lechon sauce or our special vinegar sauce.

Other items you’ll find in our menu are comfort foods that Filipinos enjoy. We have Chicken Inasal from Bacolod, Inihaw na Liempo, Barbecue, a variety of Sisig (Lechon Sisig, Chicken Sisig, Bangus Sisig and Tuna Sisig), Soups (Sinigang, Tinola and Batchoy), Vegetables (Ginisang Kangkong, Inihaw na Talong, Ensaladang Mangga, Gising Gising), staple Filipino meriendas like Lumpiang Sariwa, Dinuguan at Puto, Pancit Canton and Palabok and Desserts such as Turones Con Leche, Leche Flan, Saba in Syrup and Ice Cream.

Our food are not only delicious and savory, they are easy on the pocket too! You can enjoy meals with huge portions of chicken or pork and Rice All You Can. Chic-Boy is the perfect place to have an affordable yet delicious and fulfilling meal with your family, colleagues and barkadas. Bring home Chic-boy and share with your loved ones. It’s the perfect dish to complete your family reunions, barkada gatherings and even your company meetings and outings. –source:

What we had?

Chibog Busog Meal – CB4 Inihaw na Liempo P99 is served with house soup and rice all you can; this is husband’s order.

The liempo cut was clean and big –perfectly fit the rice all you can promotion. However, I failed to notice that house soup was not served.

I had a Sizzling Special –SS1 Lechon Sisig P88 is served with house soup. And is served also with rice though it wasn’t stated, anyway that’s a bonus when the order taker/cashier told us.   Again, no house soup was served 😦 . Actually, I can only complain now because I didn’t know yesterday that our orders should come with house soup.

We also got Gising-Gising P55, which was a spicy version of chopsuey. That was my first encounter with that spicy dish and I was even asking husband if he knows the origin of it. Okay, Mr. Google says it’s from Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija 🙂 .

We got Bottomless Iced Tea at P25; this was such a steal though husband complained that it was a little too sweet for his taste.

And I got an order of Leche Plan P30 to end my sweet cravings! It was delectable!

Chic-Boy’s ideal location would be a habit for us from now on especially on weekends when cooking is not an option.
