The Month of the Heart of Winter

the new leaf of January is my Month!

Monthly Archives: February 2011

this is Georgia

Before our HK vacay, I had this item from eBay delivered to my office, so, it became my shopping-hand carry bag during our trip.

Tommy Hilfiger Georgia Tote Bag XL

I love this piece 🙂 .

out and about

Whew! It has been a while. After almost three weeks in hiatus, I am not so sure if this come back will be 100%. The long pause is because I was out more so often these days or it is either my real job occupied most my precious time. And the least I could do is to peep at this blog every other day and make sure that this page is still mine 🙂 .

I had a wonderful and lovely month of February folks and I hope you had one too!

Like what I enlisted on my last post, things to do and things to look forward. HAPPY to say almost completed as of date 🙂 .

From buying a new luggage and getting on an airliner with my other half.

I got an American Tourister, which husband and I brought in HK. I would want another luggage, but that needs sometime and a little wait for the luggage sale in State Center.

I didn’t let passed the last few days of the Bluecross Sale. I tried on several pieces but bought nothing at all, that is what you call self-control, hehehe…

I had our DIY HK itinerary readied however, things change on the last minute. I have no regrets after all 🙂 . Our HK vacay was a very memorable occasion.

We get to celebrate Heart’s Day shopping in Kowloon district and a dinner date up and away via Boeing 747.

We had the chance to explore Macau and tried our luck on playing baccarat games. We didn’t win any HKD but it was an encounter, which will be remembered.

My SL conversion was timely so shopping is LOVE all year round!

And finally, after 10 years, my service was acknowledged. It feels good receiving that envelope oh, I mean plaque 🙂 .

I spend last weekend with my maternal cousins and remembered our Lola Ina’s birthday, she could have been celebrating her 89th but she was taken before that.

Sending our greetings to the sky –still a Happy Birthday Ina! We miss you…

Sometimes there are things that happen naturally and things we should work on to make it happen. My take is at the end of each day, be thankful for the day that was and count even the smallest things. Life is good!

This weekend would be FUN as we make sand castles and bonfires. Beach bound this time 🙂

P.S. I promise to do a detailed post of our HK-Macau trip soon…

his last bus stop

Over lunch today, we gave a colleague, a friend, Jhay a smalltime send off. It is because after almost 10 years he is now moving to a new life outside Limketkai. For somebody like him who is dear to our group, he deserves a wonderful take off 🙂 .

Jhay, you will be missed on occasions. Wala na kaming photographer 😦

Jhay, you will be missed during mid afternoon snacks. Wala ng manlilibre ng pandesal 😦

And Jhay, you will be missed everyday because you create a hole, a hole in the wall! hahaha, kidding aside we will be missing your bubbly persona 🙂 .

I personally wish you happy beginnings on whatever plans you have ahead 🙂 🙂 🙂

P.S. Thank you for ride you provided for us on the 26th, the more we will be missing you. Hay!

CNY 2011

Husband and I welcomed the Lunar New Year last night with a simple meal.

Like every year, Tikoy is a tradition and the celebration is never complete without it.

It symbolizes happiness attributed to the sweet taste and it’s being sticky symbolizes the value of close family ties.

We also had pork barbeque (bakk-wa) from Singapore. Thanks Michael 🙂 !

And noodles for longevity.

Though CNY is not grand as we celebrate New Year’s Eve, still it’s something to look forward every year.

And for a Water Ox like me, 2011 is said to be encouraging. I wish 2011 to be more fun and relatively peaceful!

Forecast for the OX in 2011

The Ox

Sturdy, earthy, no-nonsense – that’s the Ox. Affectionate and easy-going, the Ox can show a fierce temper when agitated. He is neat, tidy, quiet and studious, with a great love of his home. Music can be a great love. Family life and a loving partner are high on the Ox’s priorities. A wonderful loyal friend.

Forecast for 2011 The Ox will have grown quite a bit during 2010. Its whirlwind moments and sudden challenges meant the Ox had to adjust his thinking and change direction on a dime! Some may feel a bit low about the way things went and it’s important to look forward to 2011 and put 2010 firmly behind them. The Chinese Year of the Rabbit will be encouraging for the Ox. For those who wish to change their career or at least change the direction of it, February, March and September will bring exciting offers and progress. Romance is highlighted in a very special way this year, with unattached Oxen finding themselves in exactly the right place at the right time to meet someone very special. For those in a relationship, this will strengthen and grow. June, July and October are wonderful months for love and romance. Friendship will be important during 2011. Whether the Ox is looking for new friends or drawing on friendships he already has, it’s important that he stays socially active. March, August and December will be particularly busy socially. The Ox should take time to ensure his diet is healthy and that he is taking time to exercise and spend time outdoors. Rest and relaxation will be vital for all Oxen during the Year of the Rabbit.

old school musings

We may not be seeing each other as often as before but I can tell our friendship has withstood all the weathers of our life.

Since we didn’t see each other during the holidays, Tating’s homecoming this year became the occasion and that give us the reason to get-together for a night.

I set everything like before -venue, invites, etc. And this is not new to me 🙂 ! I used to be the overall coordinator, phone directory and “lost and found” contact for these friends 🙂 .

Anyway, we all decided (oh I mean, GP, GDL and me) for old school Talyer.  We probably missed the food, the mood, the cheap alcohol so we picked the place. It has been a favorite hang out for ages.

Do I need to say more why Talyer is still the best for us?

These beer matches!

The freedom to sing your heart aloud…

The feel of being young again 🙂

It was like 12 years ago every time we would meet and make merry…nakakamiss!
