The Month of the Heart of Winter

the new leaf of January is my Month!

Duty Free shopping

Even during our Piltel days’ going to Pampanga always excites me. It’s because I always look forward on savoring the rich cuisine (mostly the authentic sisig served at Mely’s) and that favorite empanada at Ms. Q. Shopping is another plus factor these days when in San Fernando because of the outlet shops located at Robinson Starmills, which I first visited in 2008. And aside from the foodie and shopping, visiting Pampanga means seeing old friends. It’s the best part of driving from San Fernando to Mabalacat.

So last Saturday after attending a small gathering in celebration of TA’s daughter christening we didn’t let the chance passed by. We all had the whole afternoon to take a trip.

Our first stop is Clark Freeport Zone. I couldn’t get enough of raiding supermarket in Metro Manila to get a piece of anything so I think there’s more to find out from these duty free shops. When in Clark Freeport I always favored Parkson over Puregold. It is because I find their items cheaper though Puregold had a very wide selection of items from household to consumables. FYI – Puregold had also a lower exchange rate over Parkson however, when you sum it up the latter still offers the cheapest.

From Parkson,

Nutella Spread. You know how I love this hazelnut spread, so getting a 26.5oz at US$7.18 (Php314.12) is such a steal! My friend RS got herself a jar too 🙂 .

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. I got the Big Bag at US$6.28 (Php274.75). There’s a bigger pack at Php500+, I will definitely go back for it 🙂 .

Butterfinger & Babyruth bars at USD$1.28 (Php56.00) per pack.

Husband also got a Super Stack size Pringles Reduced Fat Sour Cream US$1.88 (Php82.25), which retails in Manila supermarket at Php100.00 He also had a pack of Daddy Ray Duplex Sandwich Cremes at US1.58 (Php69.12)

From Puregold,

Kook-Aid Bursts US$1.58 (Php68.00). It comes six in pack, I got the Cherry, and Grape flavors.

I only wish I had a bigger budget then, I can’t wait to be back Honey 🙂 .

Okay, when in Clark shopping is not the only activity you can indulge. There’s also Clark Expo, which highlight Nayong Pilipino. There’s a line up of Leisure Park and Casino. There’s also El Kabayo in Paradise Ranch, which is a popular riding stable.

Wait there’s more of our Saturday leisurely walk, this time we drive towards San Fernando.
